Is anyone planning to see this one?  It looks like a real heartbreaker, but the acting looks awesome. I definitely would like to catch this one.

I always have high hopes to go to the movies and then life distracts me. I would love to see this. But I'll probably catch it on dvd. I wouldn't be surprised- at least from the promos, that it would be up for an award.

I want to see it, but I would like to read the book first.  My friend's son (a toddler) is in the movie, so aside from the story I'd like to see how he does in it too.  Mo'Nique is on Oprah today (I think) talking about the movie.

I really, really want to, but as with many of the things I'd like to do it probably won't happen.  I'll probably have to wait for it on DVD and rent it from RedBox at my Stop & Shop.  But I can dream  ...

Bluerose-it's based on the book "Push" by Sapphire.  It's about an illiterate teenage girl in Harlem pregnant for the 2nd time with her father's child, with an abusive mother who is invited to an alternative school where a teacher takes an interest in helping her.  I could be wrong, but it kind of sounds like a modern day  The Color Purple to me.
