This is Day 17 of our giveaway.  Only two more days to win! Enter often today.

Today and every weekday through Nov. 25, we'll be giving away tickets to the American Repertory Ballet in Graham Lustig's The Nutcracker at the State Theatre in New Brunswick.

Today, we'll give away family four-packs of tickets to the 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19 show, and Wednesday we'll award a grand-prize winner with six tickets to the 4:30 p.m. show.

Here's how enter:

1. Simply add to the conversation in this discussion (post below) anytime before 11:59 p.m., Nov. 24.

2. Your post must contribute to the discussion in some way: Answer a previous poster's question; ask a new question; introduce yourself; weigh in.

3. Random is ok. The discussion might go in any number of directions. That's great. But try to offer something more fun than saying you want to win.

4. Enter as many times as you like, as long as someone posts something between your two most recent entries.

5. Winners will be chosen at random from today's posts and announced online tomorrow.

6. Remember to check each day to see if you've won. Winners have 24 hours to respond, or a new winner will be selected. Winners can pick up their tickets at Will Call at the theater on the day of their show.

Enter now to win four tickets to the 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19 show.

For Thanksgiving, are you cooking this year or visiting? Or both? What are you making or where are you going?

I'm hosting.   Did my menu yesterday:  Turkey (we got a beautiful 25 pounder), Ham, Stuffing, Sweet Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce, Salad, Corn, Rice and Beans (yummy with the chickpeas), and one of my guests is brining HOMEMADE Pierogies!     And of course, lot's of desserts and coffee/tea/wine!  We are expecting about 15 people -- usually ends up being more by dessert time -- all the drop-in's.  But I love it!  The more, the merrier!

We are having a traditional turkey dinner. My mother is homebound due to an illness so I am cooking the turkey and some of the side dishes and then bringing it to her house. My dad will cook some of the other sides. He'e become a really good cook since he's home taking care of her!

Not to drag this down, but my mothers brother died on Saturday and the funeral will be Friday. It will be a bittersweet holiday for her as she lost her brother, but she'll have all 5 of her kids with her for dinner.

I hope you all have a great holiday!

Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year!! My family and I will be doing what we have done for years, going to my mom & dad's house for "the ultimate sleepover" as my kids call it. The house will be packed with 8 grandkids, 9 adults and 4 dogs!!.. With such busy schedules my brother's familys and mine all have such a hard time visiting at once!. but on Thanksgiving  we make sure we are ALL there..My mom will get up at 5 a.m. as she has traditionally done since we were little and get her turkey ready, then she will make a great big breakfast for everyone. The afternoon will consist of the men in the lazyboys and the women enjoying the gossip and conversation in the kitchen!!..I really hope that everyone has a safe, healthy and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! ENJOY!

I love this time of the year!!! The official start of the Holiday season has begun. We put the turkey on to cook when we go to bed and remove it from the oven in the early morning hours. I try to get as much done the night before (cutting, chopping) and in the morning I'll peel potatoes and leave them in water, then off to the football game we'll go. Of course by the time we get home everyone will be starving!  I hope everyone has a happy and healthy holiday. Stay safe and Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving will be at my house on thursday it will be my family 4 adults and 2 kids. Then on friday it will be his family at our house, about 30 people, and the best part is I cant cook so he will do all the cooking for both days, turkey, ham, potatos, pork, veggies, and so on.  We love having the house full.

Thanksgiving is at my MILs this year and she refuses to let anyone help.  I wanted to make a new pumpkin cake (I posted the recipe here last week) but she said NO that she had enough.

So my dh stands up and says "Mom - want that cake and MY WIFE is going to bake it and bring it!"  yippee.  I know he really just wanted a pecan pie from Delicious Orchards, but I mentioned to him how much I loved this cake (and everyone else did too for that matter) so he stood up for me.  What a guy.

Other than that?  She won't let me bring anything.    I really wanted to bring some homemade cranberry sauce and some sweet potatoe and banana casserole.  But she's got all the canned stuff she's going to use.  bleck.

Be who you want your children to become.

Well, my Thanksgiving day plans have changed and it will just be our family this year.  In deference to my husband, who is a Scot, I will be NOT serving turkey.

We will have a beef rib roast, yorkshire pudding, roasted veggies and whatever other british abomination he requests!  I say that while smiling, really!!!

We go to mom's for the hoiday.  We will sleepover the night before so my mom and I can prepare the meal together in the morning.  We always have the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade blasting on the TV so we don't miss when someone is performing!!  It's just a great day from morning till night!

We serve a mixure of american and greek dishes to celebtrate our happiness of both countries.  We will have Turkey, Ham & Lamb, american and greek stuffing, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, a variety of veggies and a big tossed salad.  A tray of feta cheese and olives sit on the table along with the rolls, butter and cranberry sauce.  The family members that come each bring a dessert..

Hopefully this year while we're sitting down enjoy the holiday , our great meal and delicious homemade desserts we will be discussing the wonderful gift I won from Momslikeme to take the family to see the nutcracker!!!!   Thank you and I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!
